As we look back at 2010, Gabe and I are pretty impressed at what you've all done at JUG Milwaukee in 2009. We've had 12 meetings and brought in impressive speakers from around the word.
Together, we've created a Joomla community in this area where we can come to learn, share and grow.
As we look forward to 2010 however, we know we can do better. We can bring in more relevant speakers, and we can do a better job of planning the JUG.
An ongoing issue in 2009 was scheduling conflicts both with the venue (Milwaukee County Research Park) and with popular holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving. To solve both these issues, we will move our monthly meetings to the 3rd Thursday of each month (a week earlier than in 2009). I hope you can all adjust your schedules accordingly.
To get more relevant speakers/topics, we've but together a survey (heavily borrowed from the good folks at Joomla Chicago). Please complete the survey so we can get an idea of what topics are of interest to the largest number of folks.
Finally, the previously scheduled January 2010 meetup has been canceled to accommodate the new schedule and to give everyone time to complete the survey.
Thanks again for a great 2009. I am expecting a great 2010 JUG Milwaukee.
