The Joomla User Group (JUG) Milwaukee (MKE) was co-founded by Gabe Wahhab and Victor Drover in January of 2009.

Gabe and Victor met at the 2008 CMS Expo in Chicago and upon returning to Milwaukee began organizing the first meeting of JoomlaMilwaukee.com.

The first meeting attracted a number of local Joomla experts as well as beginners. Included in the audience was Jonny FIsher who had built a small community at JoomlaMilwaukee.org. Gabe, Vic and Jonny agreed to pool their resources and consolidate both communites.
